So what's happened to the long awaited pedestrian crossing in the High Street; campaigned for, approved and money set aside for it?
A few weeks ago there was a flurry of activity and signs put up indicating flow restrictions and possible temporary closure of the High Street. All that appears to have been done is a bit of re-surfacing and a small extension of the pinch point paving. There are no indications af a pedestrian crossing whatsoever. So where is it?

I dont object to making the village a 20mph zone (I have young children after all) but in my experience these zones come with masses of bright red and white signs and large sections of orange on the road. I think these look awful and will detract from the 'village feel'. I'd like to see if the new crossing slows the traffic down first.

Good idea - I support it. I see the new Liberal Democrat people have now decided to support this - they have put it on their latest leaflet.

It's good to see so many keen to support better recycling! Recycling provision should be a major consideration in the next contract negotiations and I am sure Councillors at all levels will act on what is clearly the majority public view.
Cath is right, it needs to be as easy or easier to recycle than not recycle, then there can be no excuses! Roll on 2009!

The cafe is good news and we look forward to supporting this. The TUNE-IN event was useful and connected a number of people up.

If you're interested in youth provision in Bagshot, Lightwater and Windlesham you can find a list at www.wvyp.org.uk (all updates very welcome!)

It's great to see so much lively traffic on this blog - proof that democracy is alive and well in Bagshot.

I've enjoyed being able to get out and about during the by-election campaign and talk to some residents - but there's never enough time in the day to talk to all the people I'd like. If, like Simon, you haven't had the opportunity to catch me yet and there's anything you'd like to ask then please don't hesitate to e-mail me on GOVEM@PARLIAMENT.UK or call 01276 472468 and book a time at one of my surgeries.

I'm often in and around Bagshot - picking up the papers at the Post Office or dropping in for a doorstep bacon sandwich at the Wentworth Patisserie - and I'm always happy to stop and chat. I'm also lucky that Alastair, Val, Caroline and the other members of the Bagshot conservative team keep me in touch. This blog adds to the ways in which I can communicate with local residents and I look forward to the conversation continuing...

Rather than duplicate it as a comment and then an article do you want to give me an email address so I can email it to you (i can then include a picture as well)?

How did others submit their articles? I see most are from yourself but not all are and in particular Roadhog appears to be from a stranger, but his didn't appear in the comment section.

Agreed Simon - this was starting to turn into a slagging match for political geeks - wonder why the turnout on locals is so low?? The recycling in Bracknell Forest seems much better, colour coded boxes on the doorstep but also at the recyling sites you don't have to separate newspaper / cardboard / wrapping paper etc, seems like they have some understanding that recycling does actually take time. Hopefully SHBC will do something similar from 2009.
